Inspired!

Here are some of the highlights from The Queen Bee Market, which I mentioned in my past 2 posts.  I'm excited about starting some new crafting projects!  If you missed the market, check out some of the vendors:

Some of the crafts that seemed to be "trending" at the fair were:
  • Yarn-wrapped wreaths decorated with cloth flowers,
  • Cloth flowers in general (they were everywhere) and acrylic flowers,
  • Brightly-colored pennants and banners that could be personalized,
  • Funky stuffed animals (the tiny potted cactus was my favorite),
  • Hand-made floral jewelry and headbands,
  • Mommy and me matching aprons,
  • Clunky and multi-layered jewelry,
  • Super cute and fluffly tutus for little girls,
  • Multipattern and quilted purses/clutches with a vintage feel,
  • Knitted floral headbands for babies,
  • Mustaches and owls on just about anything, and
  • Witty kitchen magnets, jewelry, and t-shirts.
As always, if you're interested in crafting with Handmade, Heartmade, please contact us.  And if you need a little more crafting inspiration of your own, just look below at the links to some of my favorite vendors from the craft show today.

Queen (Bee) for a Day

I made it to The Queen Bee Market today and had a great time!  There were 50+ vendors and it was great to see what everyone was making.  I will write more later in the week to share about all of the beautiful handmade goodies I saw.  For now, I'll just show you what I actually purchased.  I was in need of a gift for my grandmother's upcoming 80th birthday, and couldn't resist once I saw this piece from Art by Erin Leigh!

What you can't see from the picture is the depth and layering in the art.  All of Erin's artwork included a variety of media, layered one on top of the other to create a beautiful work of art.  I can't wait to give this one to my grandmother!  Here are a couple more of my favorites by Erin:

Taking a Much-Needed Crafting Break!

I am so happy that I was able to make and donate all those little hats!  However, my right hand is throbbing!  So, today I've been browing the web instead of crafting, and I came across this amazing crocheted hat from BeardHead.com.  I wish I had the pattern (and knew how to crochet) so that I could make some.  Anyone else interested in giving it a try?  :)

Don't worry, girls.  There's one for you too!
